Mini League Mate, Terms and Conditions
Who we are, and what these terms cover
Welcome to Mini League Mate. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Fantasy Football Scout Ltd’s relationship with you in relation to this website.
The term “Mini League Mate”, “us” or “we” refers to Fantasy Football Scout Ltd, trading as Mini League Mate, whose registered office is 49 Green Avenue, London W13 9RW. Our company registration number is 07096709 and we are registered in England and Wales. The term “you” refers to the user or viewer of our website.
These terms and conditions of use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the website and to any subscription you buy through it. By continuing to use this website you confirm that you accept the Terms set out below, together with the additional usage terms set out in the relevant parts of the website.
Definitions
These terms carry a precise meaning wherever they appear.
The Products. The Gameweek Dossier and the Deadline Day email, together. Which of the Products a plan includes is shown on the pricing page.
Dossier. The PDF report we produce about one mini-league for one Gameweek.
Deadline Day email. The email we send right after a Gameweek’s deadline passes, showing a mini-league’s transfers in and out, captains and template team.
Gameweek. One round of fixtures in the Fantasy Premier League game.
Mini-league. A league in the Fantasy Premier League game, classic or head to head, identified by the id that game gives it, which changes every season. A Fantasy league created on this site counts as a mini-league under these Terms.
Account. Your email address, and everything we hold against it. There is no username and no password (clause 2.2).
Subscription. A paid plan bought through this site, billed monthly or yearly. Receiving Dossiers through a free join is not a subscription and costs nothing.
Slot. Room on a subscription for one mini-league. Each plan includes a number of slots, shown on the pricing page, and extra slots can be added.
Registering. Filling a slot with a mini-league, so that we cover it. The member who registers a mini-league is the member paying for it.
List. The email addresses a mini-league’s Dossiers are sent to: the member who registered it, plus everyone who has free joined it.
Free join. Adding an email address to a registered mini-league’s list, so that its holder receives that mini-league’s Dossiers without paying. A free join needs no subscription.
Depth. How many of a mini-league’s managers a plan covers, counting from the top of the league table. Each plan’s depth is shown on the pricing page.
Covered. A registered mini-league is covered while it sits within the slots its member’s subscription pays for, counting from the top of that member’s own ordering (section 4). A covered mini-league receives the Products its plan includes, and its member can download its Dossiers.
Paused. A registered mini-league that has fallen outside coverage. It stays on the member’s account and stops receiving the Products; it revives when coverage returns, and after 5 days it can be taken over by a new payer (clause 4.6).
1. What Mini League Mate is
1.1. Mini League Mate produces the Products: the Gameweek Dossier and the Deadline Day email. Which of the Products your plan includes is shown on the pricing page.
1.2. One member registers a mini-league and pays for it. Everyone else on that mini-league’s list can receive the Dossier for free, and needs no plan of their own to do so.
1.3. Everything in a Dossier is derived from data the Fantasy Premier League game publishes about your mini-league and the managers in it. We do not obtain it from you, and we cannot show you anything the game does not publish.
1.4. Because the Dossier is built from a live third-party game, some things are outside our control. Fantasy Premier League issues every classic mini-league a new id at the start of each season, so each season you enter your mini-league’s new id on your account page. If the game changes, withdraws or interrupts the data we build from, the Dossier changes with it.
1.5. We cover a registered mini-league to the depth its plan allows, which is shown on the pricing page. A mini-league with more managers than that depth is still covered, to its highest ranked managers. Size is never a reason for us to refuse a mini-league.
2. Registration and your account
2.1. You can read our public pages without an account. Registering a mini-league needs a subscription. Receiving Dossiers does not: it only needs your email address to be on a mini-league’s list, which a free join does with no subscription at all. Either way, your email address is your account (clause 2.3), and signing in with it is how you manage everything attached to it.
2.2. There are no passwords. You sign in either by clicking a link we email you, or with Sign in with Google using a Google account whose email address Google has verified. Anyone who can read your email is therefore able to sign in as you, so keep access to that mailbox secure and tell us at once if you believe someone else has it.
2.3. Your account is your email address. It must be a valid personal address that you check, because it is where every Dossier and every notice about your subscription is sent. Accounts registered with someone else’s address, or with a temporary address, may be closed without notice.
2.4. You can change the address on your account yourself. The change only takes effect once you click a link we send to the new address, which is how we know it is yours. If you sign in with Google, that will only keep working when your Google account matches your new address, and the emailed sign-in link always works.
2.5. It may be necessary for us to refuse a registration, for example to prevent fraudulent use of the website.
2.6. You agree not to abuse the registration or sign-in process, and to take responsibility for any improper or illegal use of your account, including use by a third party who has reached your account through your email, and to repay us any costs or losses we suffer as a result.
2.7. Any personal information you give us is collected, stored and used in accordance with our privacy policy.
2.8. These Terms continue to apply to your use of the website generally, however you decide to close your account. You may close it at any time by emailing us at chairmen@minileaguemate.com.
3. Subscriptions, payment and cancellation
3.1. Plans are billed monthly or yearly. There is no one-off purchase. Prices, plans and what each includes are on the pricing page.
3.2. Your price is locked for as long as you stay on your plan. The price of your plan does not change while you stay on it, even if we raise that plan’s price for new subscribers. Prices go up over time, and yours does not go up with them.
If you move to a different plan, you take that plan’s price as it stands on the day you move, and that price is then locked in the same way. Anything you add later, such as an extra mini-league, is charged at the price current when you add it.
If you cancel and subscribe again later, you start at the price current at that time.
3.3. A discount is not the same as your price. Some discounts come off a set number of bills and some last for as long as you stay on your plan and billing period. Which one you have is shown on your account page when the discount is applied.
When a discount ends, your bill goes back to your locked price, and not to the price we charge new subscribers at that time.
A discount belongs to the plan and billing period you are on. If you move to a different plan, or change between monthly and yearly billing, it ends. You then take up whatever offer applies to the plan and billing period you have moved to.
3.4. Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or hold your card details.
3.5. You can cancel at any time, and your cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then nothing changes, you keep every mini-league you have registered and you keep paying the current price. There is no refund or credit for the remainder of a period you have paid for.
3.6. The same applies to any reduction. Moving to a smaller plan, or reducing the number of extra mini-leagues while staying on the same plan, takes effect at the end of the paid period. Until then nothing changes, you keep every mini-league you have registered and you keep paying the current price. Nothing is removed from your account at the moment you ask for the change.
Where extra mini-leagues come off your bill as part of moving to a larger plan, that happens when you confirm the move, and we credit any unused time you have already paid for to your account.
3.7. Increases take effect immediately. Moving to a larger plan, or adding extra mini-leagues, starts at once. If there’s anything to pay, you are charged the difference when you confirm. Where the switch leaves you paying less than you currently do, the difference is credited to your account. When a larger plan already includes mini-leagues you are paying for separately, we ask you at the confirmation step how many mini-leagues you want in total, and show you what each choice costs.
3.8. Changing between monthly and yearly.
3.8.1. Moving from monthly to yearly takes effect immediately, with credit for the unused part of the month you have paid for.
3.8.2. Moving from yearly to monthly takes effect at the end of the year you have paid for, so nothing you have paid for is lost and no refund is needed. You can cancel the change at any point before it happens.
3.9. Renewal reminders. We do not send renewal reminders. Cancelling a recurring subscription is your responsibility, and you can do it at any time from your account page.
3.10. Refunds. If your subscription renews and you no longer wish to continue, you may ask for a refund within 7 days of the renewal date by emailing chairmen@minileaguemate.com. Refunds asked for after that 7 day window will not be issued. Refunds are granted at our discretion and will not be issued where the request falls outside the stated window, except in cases of fraud or a billing error.
3.11. A failed payment is not a cancellation. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it over a short window. During that window your mini-leagues carry on receiving the Products as normal, and we show a payment problem notice on your account page. Only a cancelled subscription stops delivery.
3.12. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights, including the rights described in clause 10.7.
4. Your mini-leagues, coverage and pausing
This section describes what happens to the mini-leagues you have registered when the number of mini-leagues your plan covers changes. It is written from your point of view.
4.1. Your mini-leagues are in an order that you set. By default it is the order you added them. You can reorder them on your account page at any time.
4.2. Your plan covers a number of mini-leagues, counting from the top of that order. While your plan covers at least as many mini-leagues as you have registered, the order makes no practical difference.
4.3. If your plan ever covers fewer mini-leagues than you have registered, the ones at the top of your order are the ones we keep sending. This is what happens at the renewal after you move to a smaller plan or reduce your extra mini-leagues, and it means you choose which mini-leagues survive by putting them in the order you want, rather than having to delete one you might want to keep. The same applies from the day you confirm a move to a larger plan, if you choose to be covered for fewer mini-leagues as part of that move.
4.4. A mini-league that falls outside your coverage is paused, not removed. It stays on your account page, in your order, marked as paused. It stops receiving the Products, and you cannot download Dossiers for it. If you later move to a larger plan, or move it back up your order, it starts again immediately.
4.5. Reordering. A reorder takes effect as soon as you confirm it. We show you what the new order changes are before you confirm. Once a confirmed reorder changes which mini-leagues are covered, you can make another such change 24 hours later. A reorder that changes nothing about your coverage can be made at any time.
4.6. A paused mini-league can be taken over by someone else after 5 days. For 5 days from the moment it loses coverage, the mini-league is still counted as yours and nobody else can pay for it. After that, anyone can register and pay for it. We cannot restrict this to people in the mini-league itself, because Fantasy Premier League gives us no way of knowing who they are. If someone does take it over, they become the member who pays for it, and you stay on its list and receive its Dossiers for free. Nothing is removed from you automatically, and if nobody takes it over the paused mini-league stays yours for as long as you keep your account.
4.7. We never charge two people for the same mini-league. If you try to register a mini-league that someone else already pays for, we tell you, we offer you the free join instead, and the slot stays available for a different mini-league.
4.8. A mini-league nobody pays for stops receiving the Products. If the only member paying for a mini-league cancels or removes it, everyone else on its list stops receiving them. We tell you this before you confirm a removal that would have that effect.
4.9. Handing over a mini-league. If you want someone else on your mini-league to take over paying for it, you can offer them its registration from your account page. The handover happens in one step when they accept, so the mini-league is never left unpaid in between, and you stay on its list and receive its Dossiers for free afterwards unless you remove yourself.
4.10. Leaving a mini-league. If you receive a mini-league’s Dossiers for free, removing it from your account page is how you stop receiving them.
5. Termination of your account
5.1. We may at any time terminate your account if:
5.1.1. you have breached any provision of these Terms, or any other additional usage terms on this website, or have acted in a way that indicates you cannot or do not intend to comply with them;
5.1.2. we are required to do so by law;
5.1.3. despite our reasonable endeavours, we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us;
5.1.4. we no longer want to offer this service to you.
5.2. Where we terminate an account that holds a subscription, we cancel the subscription at the same time. If we terminated the account because you breached these Terms, no refund is due for the remainder of the paid period. If we terminated it for any other reason, under clause 5.1.4 for example, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.
6. General terms of use
6.1. The content of the pages of this website is for your general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.
6.2. We do not warrant that functions available on this website will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the server that makes it available is free of viruses or bugs. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to implement sufficient procedures and virus checks to satisfy your particular requirements for the accuracy of data input and output.
6.3. Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It is your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this website meet your specific requirements.
6.4. This website contains material which is owned by or licensed to us, including but not limited to the design, layout, look, appearance and graphics, and the design and content of the Dossier. Reproduction is prohibited other than in accordance with clause 8.
6.5. All trade marks reproduced on this website which are not our property, or licensed to us, are acknowledged on the website. Fantasy Premier League and the Premier League are the property of their respective owners, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to them.
6.6. Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.
6.7. We may revise these Terms at any time by amending this page. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes, as they are binding on you. Some of the provisions in these Terms may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site.
7. External links
7.1. This website may provide hyperlinks to other websites which are not owned by us and whose content is not in our control. Accordingly we cannot accept any responsibility for the content, materials, goods, services or practices featured on those websites. Links to them are not to be taken as our endorsement of them, or of any content within them, or as a warranty that they will be free of viruses or other items of a destructive nature.
7.2. We advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of any website you visit when you leave our own website.
8. Use of website content and of your Dossier
8.1. All content on this website that is provided by us or on our behalf, including but not limited to text, photographs, images, graphics, illustrations, designs, written material and the Dossier itself, is protected by copyright, trade mark rights and/or other intellectual property rights owned by or licensed to us.
8.2. You are permitted to download, print or copy content from the website, including the Dossiers your plan covers, provided that you:
8.2.1. do so only for your personal, non-commercial use, which includes sharing a Dossier with the members of the mini-league it is about;
8.2.2. acknowledge us as the source of the material; and
8.2.3. do not use our content in any other way.
8.3. You must apply to us at chairmen@minileaguemate.com for consent and conditions to use our content for any purpose other than the one set out in clause 8.2.
8.4. We reserve any other uses of, and rights in, our content, so you must ask our prior permission for these. We will not always be able to give consent.
8.5. You must not, nor try to, make mass, automated or systematic extractions of our content, or use it to create or to include it within another paper or electronic database, or try to re-sell or redistribute it. We reserve the right to prohibit or restrict the way in which other sites link to, frame or re-present any of our content.
8.6. By agreeing to a paid plan you give your consent to waive your rights to the 14-day cooling-off period, and you receive full access to the service immediately. If you do not wish to waive these rights, special arrangements can be organised by contacting chairmen@minileaguemate.com, however you will not receive or be able to download Dossiers until the 14-day cooling-off period finishes.
9. Information you give us
9.1. You can enter a display name, a title for any Fantasy league you create, and the Fantasy Premier League manager ids of managers you add to a mini-league you pay for. Everything you enter is visible to the other members of the mini-leagues concerned.
9.2. You agree that anything you enter will not be defamatory, offensive, obscene, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable, will not impersonate anyone else, and will not infringe anybody’s rights, including copyright, trade mark, privacy or publicity rights.
9.3. We may edit or remove anything you enter that breaches clause 9.2, and may suspend or terminate your account, without notice.
9.4. Adding another manager to a mini-league adds their publicly published Fantasy Premier League data to that mini-league’s Dossier. You should only add managers where it is reasonable to do so.
10. Our liability
10.1. The information on this website is for general information purposes only. While we endeavour to keep it up to date and correct, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of the website or of the information, products, services or related graphics on it, for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.
10.2. Subject to clause 10.6 below, we shall not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential losses you may incur. This includes any loss of profit, whether incurred directly or indirectly, any loss of goodwill or business reputation, and any loss of business data.
10.3. Subject to clause 10.6 below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage which is not reasonably foreseeable.
10.4. Subject to clause 10.6 below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage you may incur as a result of:
10.4.1. any changes we make to the website, or any permanent or temporary cessation of the website or any part of it;
10.4.2. the deletion or corruption of, or failure to store, any data maintained or transmitted through your use of the website;
10.4.3. any change to, interruption of, or withdrawal of the Fantasy Premier League game or the data it publishes, on which this service depends;
10.4.4. the availability of, or any result reached through reliance on, any third party websites accessed through hyperlinks on the website;
10.4.5. your failure to give us accurate registration information; or
10.4.6. your failure to keep access to the email address on your account secure.
10.5. The limitations in clauses 10.2 to 10.4 apply whether or not we have been advised in advance of the possibility of such losses arising.
10.6. We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which may not lawfully be excluded or limited.
10.7. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. If you are in any doubt about your statutory rights, contact Citizens Advice or the Competition and Markets Authority.
11. Your liability
11.1. You agree to refund, or otherwise take responsibility for, any and all liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, which we or any of our group companies or personnel may incur as a result of any breach of these Terms by you, or in connection with your use of the website from your account.
12. Limitation of liability
12.1. Neither we nor any of our directors, employees or other representatives will be liable for damages, in contract, tort or otherwise including negligence, arising out of or in connection with the use of the website or the Dossier. You confirm that we shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification to, suspension of, or discontinuance of the website or the service. This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property, and claims of third parties. We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, or for any other liability which may not lawfully be excluded or restricted.
13. Indemnity
13.1. You agree to fully indemnify us immediately on demand against all claims, liability, damages, costs and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of any breach of these Terms by you, or by any other person who accesses the website using your account, or any other liabilities arising out of your or their use of the website. You shall give us notice of such claims, full authority to defend, compromise or settle them, and reasonable assistance necessary to defend them, at your sole expense.
14. Terms held to be invalid or unenforceable
14.1. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law with jurisdiction to decide the matter, that provision shall be removed from these Terms without affecting the rest of them, and the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
15. Waiver of our rights
15.1. A failure by us to exercise our rights or remedies under these Terms shall not be a waiver of that right or remedy, and no waiver by us shall be effective unless given in writing and signed by us.
16. Governing law
16.1. These Terms, and your access to and use of the website, are subject to:
16.1.1. if you are resident in the UK, the relevant UK law, and the relevant UK courts will have exclusive jurisdiction; or
16.1.2. if you are not resident in the UK, English law, and the English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction.
16.2. Notwithstanding clause 16.1, you agree that we may still apply for injunctive remedies, or other types of temporary relief or legal remedy, in any jurisdiction.
17. Age
17.1. You must be 18 or over to buy a subscription.
17.2. There is no age requirement to RECEIVE a mini-league’s Dossiers for free. That needs only your email address on that mini-league’s list.
17.3. Playing Fantasy Premier League is governed by Fantasy Premier League’s own terms, including their rule that anyone under 13 needs a parent or guardian’s permission to register an account with them.
Acceptance
You acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by the above Terms.
