Members FAQ

Answers about signing in, Dossiers, leagues and billing.

How do I sign in?

Use the email address your Dossiers go to. Enter it on the sign-in page and we’ll email you a one-time link. Click the link, then press the Sign in button on the page it opens, and you're in.

If that address is also a Google account, “Sign in with Google” does the same thing in one click. It only works for the exact address your Dossiers go to, not just any Google account you happen to be signed into.

Why does signing in take two clicks?

Some email providers open links automatically to check them for safety, and that process uses up the sign-in link before the email reaches you. To get around this problem, the link in the email now opens a page to complete the sign-in.

I've just signed up. When do I receive my first Dossier?

Now that the season in underway, your mini-league's Dossier for the most recent completed Gameweek is emailed to you usually within a few hours of registering your league, and at the latest by the following morning. After that, it arrives every Gameweek, as soon as FPL has fully updated after the final match.

If you have the Chairman's Bundle, you don't need to wait for the email. We gather your league's data as soon as you add it, which usually takes about fifteen minutes, and from then on, every completed Gameweek this season is ready to download on your account page.

If you register while matches are being played, we wait for the games to finish before collecting the data.

Where’s my Dossier?

First, check your spam folder, that’s where missing Dossiers usually end up.

Next, check your league is set up: under Your leagues on your account page, your league should show as “Active”, or “Being set up”, which means it’s queued and is in the process of being set up. If it isn’t there at all, add it under Add a mini-league with your league’s FPL ID.

The other thing you might see is “Not currently funded”, which means nobody in the league is paying for the Dossier at the moment, so it has come off the send list; adding it again under Add a mini-league will reactivate it.

Dossiers go out once the Gameweek has finished and FPL has updated everyone’s points and ranks.

I’ve received the wrong Dossier

Almost always this is the league ID. Under Your leagues on your account page, each league shows its ID; compare it with the number in your FPL league’s web address. League IDs reset every season, so last season’s ID now belongs to a completely different league, which is the usual way the wrong Dossier sneaks in.

If the ID is wrong, remove that league and add the right one. If it all looks right and the Dossier is still wrong, get in touch and we’ll sort it.

How do I add another league?

Sign in and go to Your leagues on your account page. If your plan has room, enter the new league’s FPL ID under Add a mini-league and you’re done.

This is also how you bring back one of your free leagues showing as “Not currently funded”. That means nobody is paying for the league any more, so it has stopped being sent. Reactivate it by entering its ID under “Add a mini-league”, and it becomes one of your paid leagues, with you as the one paying for it.

If your plan is full, you have two choices. You could swap one of your existing paid leagues for the new one: remove the league you no longer want, which frees its slot, then add the new one in its place. Swapping costs nothing; it’s the number of leagues your plan covers that you pay for. Or increase the number of Extra mini-leagues to create a new slot under “Add a mini-league”, where you can then add the new league. Each extra league costs £1 a month or £10 a year, depending on how you're billed.

I added my league and it says someone already pays for it

That’s good news: one person pays for a league and everyone in it receives the Dossier free, so there’s nothing for you to buy. Press “Join it free” and you’ll start receiving it too.

You don’t use one of your slots on it either. When a mini-league is already paid for, you can receive the Dossier for free without it reducing the allocation on your plan. So you get what you paid for and nobody pays for the same league twice.

Sometimes it says the league is being set up, that means someone has paid for it and we are in the process of setting it up. Joining free still works and you’ll receive the first Dossier once it’s live.

How do I remove a league?

Sign in, find it under Your leagues on your account page, and press “Remove”. That frees room for another league but doesn’t change what you pay. To pay less, reduce the number of Extra mini-leagues or use Change plan.

If you’re the one paying for the league, you’ll see the option to “Transfer mini-league registration”. Pick a league-mate to take it on and, once they accept, the Dossiers carry on instead of stopping.

What’s a “Fantasy” league?

Ever wanted to be in a mini-league with Magnus Carlsen? Well, now you can. Mini League Mate gives you the option to compete in a Fantasy league alongside whoever you want. Click “Create a Fantasy league” under Add a mini-league on your account page and build your own: all you need are the IDs of the managers you want in it. You can even select managers from our celebrity guest list.

Fantasy leagues only come with The Chairman’s Bundle.

The league is unique to Mini League Mate, there’s nothing added to FPL at all. You pick the managers and create the league, and it receives the usual Dossier.

You’ll get a code, such as MLM0003, to share with your mates so they can sign up to receive the Dossier as well. They simply enter it on the Membership page where it says “Join an existing league”.

Or if you’d prefer to add a celebrity guest to your existing mini-league, instead of creating a new one from scratch, you can do that too using our guest manager feature.

Can I add a celebrity to our mini-league?

A guest manager is a real FPL team you add to your mini-league on Mini League Mate: a celebrity, a YouTuber, or anyone whose manager ID you know. Guests rank in every table, award and chart of your Dossier like anyone else.

The guest manager is only added on Mini League Mate, nothing changes on FPL itself.

Open your league under Your leagues on your account page, add anyone by manager ID, or pick from our celebrity guest list. It works on your real mini-league and on Fantasy leagues alike. Guest managers are only available with The Chairman’s Bundle.

Can someone else take over paying for our league?

Yes. First, open your league under Your leagues on your account page and press “Remove”; the confirm step offers “Transfer mini-league registration”. Pick whoever is taking it on and they get an email. Nothing changes until they accept, and we let you know when they do.

You can only offer it to someone already on the league’s list, and they'll need a plan with a free mini-league slot to accept the registration. They simply follow the email link, and if they don't have a plan yet, we'll walk them through setting one up.

The list you pick from shows names, not email addresses. If two people on it have the same name, ask the person taking it on to change their name under Your details for a moment, then open the list again.

A Fantasy league is different, because registration requires The Chairman’s Bundle just as creating one does. So the person taking it on will need The Chairman’s Bundle before you can offer it to them; anyone on a smaller plan won’t appear in the list of names to choose from. Once the transfer is complete, the league’s member list then becomes theirs to edit.

The swap happens in one go, so the league is never left unpaid and nobody misses a Gameweek. You stay on the list as a free member afterwards, your slot frees up for another mini-league, and you can cancel the offer any time before it’s accepted.

My mates want the Dossier. Do they need to pay?

No. Once a league is registered, anyone can sign up to receive it. To do so, they must go to the Membership page and fill out their details under “Join an existing league”. They will need to enter their name, email address (where the Dossiers will be sent) and the league ID. One person pays for a league; everyone in it receives the Dossier for free.

Can I get the Dossier at a second email address?

Yes, simply join your league again with the other address. Membership → join an existing league, same league ID, the new email. That adds an email address; to move your whole account to a different one instead, use Your details on your account page.

How do I change how the Dossier arrives?

On your account page, under Preferences you can choose between receiving the Dossier as a PDF attachment (the default), as a download link, or both.

Can I get Dossiers for Gameweeks I’ve missed?

If your plan includes it, yes. On your account page, under Catch up on missed Gameweeks, pick the ones you want and you can download them instantly.

Last season counts too: your leagues from last season are listed on your account page, and their Gameweeks are there to download in the same way.

Occasionally one can't be built straight away, just after you add a new league for example. When that happens we say so and save your request. If you don't come back for it within a day, we email it to you once it's ready.

Can I download a Dossier for a Gameweek that is still being played?

Once more than half the matches have been played, an "as it stands" Dossier appears in the download list on your account page. It updates after each day, so the version you download after Sunday's matches includes everything up to Sunday. It covers the members who were in your mini-league at the deadline, and it stays marked "as it stands" until the Gameweek finishes. Once that happens, the final Dossier takes its place.

Downloads come with the Chairman's Bundle.

How do I unsubscribe from a league?

Sign in and remove it from Your leagues on your account page. If you’re the only one paying for it, everyone else on that league’s list stops receiving it too, and we warn you before you confirm. If the league is also registered to someone else’s account, the Dossiers carry on being sent uninterrupted.

League ids reset every season. What do I do in August?

FPL gives every mini-league a brand-new id each season, so last season’s id won’t match this season’s league. Once your league is recreated on FPL, copy its new id and add it again under Add a mini-league on your account page. Last season’s leagues stay listed there as a reference so you know what to look for.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

Billing & card details on your account page takes you to Stripe’s own page for cancelling, receipts and your card (we never see your card details ourselves). To move to a different plan, or switch between monthly and yearly billing, use Change plan on your account page instead.
